Odd Skin Reaction: Has This Happened To Anyone Else?

Hi,

Sorry if this turns out to be gross or TMI but....I'm having some very weird skin reactions. I'm getting hive/pimple like bumps all down my sides, on my back and down my butt. I know. Attractive. I'm 7 months post chemo treatments and currently on tamoxifen. Has anyone else had a skin reaction like this? I plan on calling my oncologist on Monday but it's getting worse and I'm freaking out a bit. I'm not in pain. It's not itching. It's just....ewwwww!!!!

I thought about that but was nervous that they might not know enough about tamoxifen and chemo and their rare side effects. If it gets worse still, I'll consider it. Thank you.

Right, but at least urgent care might know if it is shingles, or an infection, or an allergic reaction, etc. I know, you never know who you will get there. Does your cancer center have a 24-hour nurse line for chemo patients? Maybe they would let you e-mail or text a photo and then say if you need to be seen before Monday. If you need a prescription it would be nice to know sooner. Why do these things always happen on the weekend?

My experience of shingles is that it's quite painful.

My first case of shingles gave me a burning sensation, but my second one only itched, and not all the time. (But they both occurred in typical shingles locations and were diagnosed by doctors. And they both happened when my body had been under great stress.)

Good question! Why do they happen on the weekend? The outbreak is less "angry" this morning so, that is good.

It's not worse today, so I think I'll call me oncologist in the morning. I'll update you all when/if I find out what this is. Cancer is just the gift that keeps on giving, isn't it?!
