What to get checked out and what to stop worrying about

It's been a year since my treatment ended. I promised myself I would not become one of those patients who worries about any new issues . I have a very small hard lump under my skin on my right forearm. It's been there for a month or so. It's not very big; however, it feels a lot like the lump I had first discovered on my breast. Is there any reason to be concerned or any reason to go to the Dr. I don't like going there with silly things...so I'm trying to talk myself out of it.

It probably isn't an issue but if it has been there for a month, go and have it checked. Hopefully your doctor will allay your fears and let you know what to be concerned about in the future. I'll keep sending positive thoughts your way.

From one Jays fan to another, it sounds like a ganglion cyst, if it's close to your wrist. I've had several. Have a quick Google and see if that's what it looks like. Totally benign, but can get really irritating if it's in a spot that keeps getting bumped. All of mine eventually went away on their own, though a couple needed some coaxing (had to smash the one on my inner wrist with a big book :) Like grammakathy said, probably a good idea to get it diagnosed once so that when it comes up again, you'll know. They do tend to repeat, if that's what it is.

Go see a dermatologist. Could be a squamous ca. Had one cut out of my arm in office. Good idea to have a yearly skin check anyway.
