Breast MRI "suspicious area"
I posted on the Not diagnosed but worried thread but now I'm waiting for results.
Background: had bilateral axillary breast tissue and benign tumor removal surgery in August 2015. No issues up until end of September.
Symptoms: my right breast. Section below nipple 1/3 of the breast turned pink/reddish, orange peel texture, thickness, indentation from bra, warm, no fever, no itching or swelling or pain (sometimes sore). No arm , chest or back swelling. Symptoms persist.
Tests: mammogram / US results only thickening. Breast mri show "suspicious area". Dr. noted orange de peau and color. Initially was told it wasn't related to my surgery and not lymphedema. Now, waiting to see if it is in fact truncal lymphedema or IBC.
Today, I just got a phone call telling me I needed to go get an US in the right breast because of a "suspicious area". I informed her I just recently had an US done in that breast and asked if I really needed another one. She checked the file and found it and said that I would need to followup with the dr. She couldn't give anymore info and apologized for calling me. So I call my dr, and of course she's not in the office and I'd get a call tomorrow. Ugh...
I'm wondering what else can be done to get a diagnosis? Lymphedema or IBC, just need an answer.

On my way to the Dr yesterday, I got a call telling me they needed an ultrasound after all. They said they needed to ultrasound a specific area in the opposite side of where I have the orange peel thickening. During the ultrasound, she pushed down in that area and it hurt so bad, i had never felt pain while getting an ultrasound before. When she walked out of the room I looked at the small pictures on screen. The last pic I saw maybe 3 bright white spots. She sent me up to talk to my Dr. She Said she wouldn't have any Info for me until week. She Confirmed suspicious area was indicated by mri and we have to wait for US results. I have an appt For Tuesday. The area is closer to where I had my surgery so I'm hoping it's scar tissue. I'm feeling better hoping for the best.

I was supposed to see my Dr on Tuesday but instead got a call today. Basically my ultrasound also came back suspicious and now I have to have an mri guided biopsy and a consultation with breast cancer surgeon. I was really thinking I was dealing with truncal lymphedema or scar tissue from my axillary breast tissue removal surgery. Now I'm not so sure. I've had mammograms, 2x ultrasound and breast mri wouldn't any of them distinguish the difference between blocked lymph nodes, scar tissue, lymphedema or cancer? It's hard believe that it's been over a month I'm not Any closer to a diagnosis. My consultation is on the 12th and mri guided biopsy on 17th. It's a never ending nightmare.
