Aches and pains

Hello all... today was my 6 out of 15 radiation treatments for a tumor on my sternum. So far my skin is just a little pink, nothing too bad and I keep aloe vera gel on it. I have been experiencing some weird pains over the past couple of days that weren't there before. Feels kind of like a tiny ice pick is being poked into my chest where I'm getting the rads. I'm thinking this is nerve pain reacting to the rads. I see my doctor tomorrow and plan to ask him but thought I'd check to see if anyone here is experiencing pain other than the usual redness, burns, etc. Usually I can get the "real" scoop here because according to my doctors, there's no fatigue, nausea, etc.... haha

Thanks!

I had quite a bit of prickly feelings when I had rads. I just had more rads for pain control & the prickly feeling & itchiness was almost immediate. Your RO says there is no nausea or fatigue? On the sheet they gave me at rads the first 2 side effects that affect most are fatigue & nausea.

Sounds like what I felt during my boost and for about 4 days after I was done.

Just an update - I saw my RO today after treatment and I asked him about the random pains. He said it's normal. The radiation is breaking down the cancer cells and messing with the nerves at the same time.
