IDC & Breast Pain

I've recently been diagnosed with IDC (ER-/PR- HER2+).

My scans all came back clear and the MO says we have caught it early. It doesn't appear to have invaded any nodes.

That said, I do have quite a bit of pain in my breast. I thought breast pain was a sign of later stage cancers.

Anyone else experienced this?

I had pain. More like a dull ache , probably got stepped on or smooshed by one of my kids, that didn't go away in a few days. So I called in and found the lump in the couple of days between calling and the appointment.

I have occasional soreness and sharp “zaps” but only post-op. (Had no sign of anything wrong until that first unnerving screening mammo report). Even though my tumor was at the “10:00” position, as severed nerve endings are mending and reawakening (acc. to my b.s. and her nurse) that breast is more sensitive than it used to be. But it’s not real “pain."

I had pain (more like after a workout pain) that started from the area were the lump was and continued on to the shoulder. I had multi focal cancer with node involvement. I had the pain for over a month but I shrugged it off as nothing until I found the lump.

Mine felt like a bit of sun burn....I tossed it off as dry skin...

I definitely had pain. In fact, I had commented to my husband just a couple of weeks before I found the lump that it was weird because I kept waking up on my back and was not sleeping on my right side (where the lump was) anymore. I would get so uncomfortable in my sleep I would change positions and I usually never move. As my surgery approached, the pain radiated from my right breast, down my arm and up into my right ear. This was not my imagination!! It was real. That pain went away after the BC was removed- albeit replaced by post-surgery pain, but I could live with that!!
