My 2nd AC infusion is Dec 17. Had no SEs from the Nulesta shot. Yea. Nausea from 1st infusion. Just got the sea bands, feel good. Nervous now that I know what to expect. Just want to get through. Should be done with everything by my 60th birthday. Bring it on.

hi nebraska - not sure if any one else responded to your query. I read to start the day before infusion and take one a day for up to seven days after. That is what I have started. Just home from 1st infusion with no problems. Neulasta injection tomorrow. Did you get a neulasta co-pay approval? First shot is free and then only a $25 co-pay. My financial navigator set it up for me.

Hope your piic line procedure went well!

How are you feeling a couple of days on mvspaulding?

just a quick note-- I had the nulestra shot and haven't had any side effects from it. Have not taken any Claritin or anything to combat the side effects, so again, not everyone reacts the same.

Hope you are getting along ok Donna. I know it's been especially challenging for you.

I have been feeling "almost good" the last couple of days thank you Guavaberry75. Hope you are too?

Hoping I have turned the corner this round.

I didn't need anything for the side effects of the Neulasta shot either.

thanks for asking Smurfette, I went to work on Friday. Didn't feel too bad except for a headache and this annoying side effect I get from steroids called flushing. My chest and face gat red as a cherry and heat up. Usually last about 1-2 days. Feeling normal now. I did take an anti nausea pill this morning before I set out with my daughter and sister in search of a wig. I found one I like as much as you can like the fact of wearing a wig. So I am prepared for when that day comes. Now I am just feeling kind of icky. Thinking I need a good sleep. I still don't sleep well because side sleeping isn't comfortable.

    Hugs to all,

    Missy

Hi Missy, sorry you are having the flushing. I am only 3 days out from my first TC infusion and am flushing as well. Was not sure what to attribute it to with so many things going into my system. No need for blush, that's for sure! My face fells like it is sunburned, too. Look forward to that feeling going away!

Hope everyone is having a good, calm, and side effects free weekend. I certainly wish the wait was not so long between treatments - it feels like weeks already, rather than just a few days

Yes, the flushing is a terrible feeling, the only reason I knew it was attributed to steroids is because I had poison ivy real bad last year and had to get a steroid shot and the same thing happened. Today was probably my worst day as far as just generally not feeling good. I am going to work from home tomorrow and try to go back Tuesday.

I know what you mean about waiting so long in between treatments but I guess our bodies need that time to recover.

Sitting here as we speak getting my first round. I took my steroids and of course as expected was up until 2am. They didn't give me any benydryl before the taxotere, but I am now onto the cytoxan. Hoping for minimal side effects and that the chemo is doing its job!

2nd AC infusion tomorrow morning. I hope the reaction to this one is easier than the first. Got really flushed, I think from the steroids. They are going to reduce it thus time. At least I will be good for Christmas! Waiting to see if my hair falls out and when that will happen.

    Good luck everyone.

Gabby, I am surprised you are having your 2nd infusion and you still have hair! Everyone is telling me to expect it to be gone before my 2nd treatment. Good luck!

Has anyone else had soreness and cracking of the skin inside your nose? I can't figure out if it's being caused by the sinus infection I had before treatment or what

I had a very dry nose when I had the TC. I got nose bleeds too. But this round of AC my nose is fine. I have my second round tomorrow too Gabby. I still have some hair even though I buzzed it really short. I thought my noggin' would be completely smooth by now, but it's not. I had 6 acupuncture needles put in my ear tonight to help with the nausea. We'll see if it works!

let me know how that goes guavaberry. My nausea was awful from the 1st AC. I will do anything to avoid that again. Good luck tomorrow.

myspaulding: I got very severe nasal sores after my first infusion of TC. Cracked and sore and it would bleed. Started about day five and went on for about three weeks. When I started using something to moisturize the nasal passages, it started healing quite quickly. Try Vaseline or what I used is a product called Ayr nasal gel.

ok thanks all. I'm going to have to get something. It's getting really sore. My lips are really chapped too. I have my first follow-up appointment tomorrow. I will see what they suggest.Guess I will find out if I need the nulasta shot too. Hope not! Good luck to both of you tomorrow. Hope your nausea isn't bad!

I had my first treatment on Monday and I woke up yesterday with a horrible sore throat! It still hasn't gone away. No fever. But it hurts quite bad. I have a follow up apt next Monday. Not sure whether to stick it out or not.

The sore throat was one of the symptoms that they told me to contact them right away Nebraska. I wouldn't wait until Monday if I were you.

    Hugs,

    Missy

Thanks. I did go ahead and call. They don't seem too concerned yet. Hopefully it gets better and everything else as far as side effects starts to minimize as well. I definitely still have my appetite. I have some bone pain after the shot and some headaches. Just ready to feel normal again.

I went for my first follow up today and as I expected my white blood count was low. I will be getting nulasta shot after next treatment. Right now I have to be careful until next week when my body returns my levels to normal. I also got a bag of fluids, steroids and anti nausea. And a Z pack because I've started coughing and having ear pain again so they think first round of antibiotics might not have kicked the sinus infection I had before treatment. Started out a pretty crummy day considering it is my birthday. But had a nice dinner with family tonight.
