Parotid Mass???
I've had a lump on my neck just under my ear and jawline I noticed a few weeks ago my oncologist gave me a ZPack and ear drops. The lump never went away. Just saw an ENT where he mentioned a parotid mass. He said most are not cancerous but I can't help but feel so nervous and scared. I'm scheduled to get a CT scan on Friday. Anyone had trouble with a parotid mass??? Thanks!!

I had one removed many years ago (benign). It has been fine since except that a nerve cut during surgery attached to a sweat gland so when I eat i sweat on that side instead of salivating. Try not to worry. It is hard once you have been diagnosed with cancer to not attribute every physical change with cancer. Hopefully you will get a definite answer soon.

i have the same thing for almost two years. My GP and my MO both said it its nothing. It hasn't changed in that time and it didn't change through all my chemo. I would like to have it removed. My guess is yours is fine. Take care.

I have the same thing. It is located in the same area, under corner of jaw bone and under ear right where neck meets and it is on the same side as my BC was.. I too had antibiotics, and had CAT scan and ultra sound. all say its a hardened lymph node, non cancerous. Its still there and has been the same for over a year now. I guess if it was something bad something would have changed in that time. It weired though as you can still feel it and its hard. They are not recommending removing it and state that sometimes lymph nodes that don't get used often , if you get ill they harden up with infection and then do not reduce in size? Anyway its still there, I am still here so assuming they're right. Hope that's all it is for you too. Keep us posted.

I had a benign parotid tumor 15 years ago. (I actually had it recur 2 times which were also benign) I think 80% are benign but if left in some percentage can become malignant. I also have Frey's syndrome that wrenn mentions where I sweat when I eat but it's not noticeable by others. The facial nerve runs through the parotid gland and if the tumor becomes too big, you can start having issues with nerve damage so it best to have it removed if it is a tumor. If you are diagnosed with one, here is a Facebook group called Parotid People that has lots of good info. I'd be happy to answer any other questions. Feel free to pm me
