Yesterday I've done the core biopsy and I'm now in the 5 days of terrifying wait.

My background: I'm 54 and always had 'dense breasts' on my results. All came BIRADS 2. In 2008 I had an ultrasound done for a several lumps that turned out to by cysts - with a couple of them called as 'complicated cysts'. One of them was at 12 o'clock and measuring 1.2 cm. Fast forward 2013 and I noticed a bump at the same place. It is above the nipple and felt rubbery and movable. My family doctor said that on my regular chest xRay in 2013 and 2014 I had a 1.5cm 'shadow' which might be a 'summation artifact' due to my dense breasts confirmed by my regular mammograms (2013 and 2014) whare nothing appeared and so I wasn't really concerned. This year I decided I will mention it to the nurse and she suggested a 3D mammo followed by an ultrasound. To my terror, the ultrasound came BIRADS 4C with the explanation of 'Irregular 1.5x.08x1.2 cm hypoechoic mass in the right breast, 7 cm from the nipple.' I had an immediate core biopsy and now I am terryfied by the results. It is impossible not to read and think at the worst, and both my husband and I feel that our lives came to a complete halt. I am trying to think at a question but the only one that comes to mind is how can I help him and my family get over this, should the worst happen.

Thank you so much for reading and please help with an advice.
