bad feeling about my biopsy

I want to start out by saying, my mass is very small so no matter the outcome, I will be ok. I am staying positive about the whole thing so what I have to say next might sound contradictory. I just had my biopsy today so I have 7 days to wait before I hear anything.

I guess what I wanted to post about was, I just have a feeling this mass is not going to come back ok. I know they say 85% of these things are benign. I just have this bad feeling.

Has anyone else ever had this feeling about their situation?

Softheart, The important thing is that you are going to come out of this ok. We all think of the worst outcomes while waiting, and if you read enough of these threads, you will see that waiting is the hardest. I don't know if you saw this quote under the Waiting for Results heading,

"Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow. It empties today of its strength." -- Corrie Ten Boom

Our thoughts do go there, but the odds are with you. In case you are diagnosed, you have found this site as a good resource and have a wonderful support group here of women that know what you are feeling. Feel free to post questions or vent. Glad you have found us. In the meantime keep busy and do good things for yourself. Let us know the results. We're wishing you the best.

The waiting is the worst, we understand that. One day at a time, and try to distract yourself in the meantime.

    We're thinking of you.

I know exactly how you feel. For some reason - I've always feared BC. I don't know why. I begged for a mammogram before I was 40 and couldn't get insurance to pay for it. Once I was 40 I scheduled it immediately. Now I'm 41 - just had my 2nd mammogram and am headed for a biopsy next week due to calcifications that weren't on last years mammogram. I already have a bad feeling about the results but I'm a worrier so I'm hoping it's more that, than any kind of intuition. Good luck :)

Its hard to sit around thinking that this thing is just looming over you. The days will pass, your answer will come. Just live worry free for the next few days. As far as you know right this moment, you are perfectly healthy!! Good Luck!!

I did! I had such a bad feeling, intuition, about my lump. I had it excised and I was convinced it was something sinister. Well my feelings were wrong! Totally benign! Feelings cannot be relied upon for truth! I think it's easy to go to the dark places when we are stuck waiting. But just because we go there mentally doesn't mean it's true! Hugs! Hope yours turns out b9!

I had a sinking feeling as well, but my radiologist seemed to know it was cancer before the biopsy and she telegraphed this to me so I was sort of prepared. I saw it on the ultrasound and it looked like a little beast in there! We all handle stress differently, but my approach was not to count my chickens before they hatched, KWIM? I know it's the wrong metaphor because my chickens were freaking cancer. But I tried to just go about my day, went on a trip, just tried not to think about it and took it one step at a time. The hardest thing was not to google too far ahead. And you're right, it's much better to be small. Big hugs. I hope it is B9.
