Fatigue

I am doing Accelerated Radiation. I am on day 16 today and then I have 4 boost. So far very little skin irritation. This weekend I found myself so tired I couldn't do anything. I tried but gave up after short periods of time. I find I am sleeping more but still tired. I do work (self employed) but this past week I cut my hours back. I know that fatigue is a side effect of radiation. I have a couple of questions. Is there anything that I can do to reduce this tired feeling. Second I am stressing over the boost. (Change) I am not sure what that will be. I under stand it is a different type of radiation at a higher dosage to only the tumor area. Is this harder or easier on the body? My tumor was about 12 cm below the nipple in the center of the breast.

Thanks.

In my experience, the fatigue was cumulative, my RO warned me that most get it at the 3rd week. I worked throughout and do know that was about when I hit the wall so seems to me you are about normal. I am not really sure if the boosts made me feel dif, by then I was tired all the time. I tried to eat really healthy and yeah, took naps when I got home from work each day. I drove 36 miles up the Jersey Turnpike for work each day and had my rads very close to my office.

Some days I crashed by mid afternoon, fortunately, my boss was considerate and let me leave early on those days. I tried to make big pots of soup so for dinner, I was eating healthy without effort. Weekends I crashed.

Suggestion, do a count down till the end and just try to get as much rest as you can. Hey, it has been 7 years and all clear!
