I found this surfing around looking for some kind of proof to give my MO that I'd be ok if I was in a lower dose of tamoxifen. I find it sobering that we are not saving lives with tamoxifen.

Curious what others think.

The study you link to was for women at high risk for breast cancer but otherwise healthy. And the women were allowed to take HRT before and during the study.

You already had pre cancer so you would not be taking Tamoxifen for chemoprevention but to treat the DCIS. When it comes to preventing BC we don't have much options other than MX and that may not be a option for everyone. For example I got BRCA1 BC at 36, that would mean that my daughter would have to start screening/prophylactic surgeries at 26. I'd rather that she would take Tamoxifen than do the surgeries so young.

I'm also concerned that this study was motivated by ovarian cancer.
