Preventative oophorectomy brca2

time has come for me to make a decision /: met with gyn onc and he said I could just do tubes for now but would still have to take tamoxifen. He said most brca ovarian cancer starts in the tubes. I had double mastectomy in 2011 for idc stage 1. I'm thinking it may be easier to take ovaries too and go on an ai, since that woukd give me the benefit of menopause which my med onc will love since i was highly er pos. But then i add risk for osteo and heart disease. Any words of wisdom? Pretty heavy decisions we have to make.

Evista may be a possibility for you too in menopause. I had prophylactic ooph 22 years ago for BRCA 1 positive family hx... No testing yet back then. I was barely in menopause , 41 at the time. You can message me if you want to discuss . Good luck with this decision. It wasn't a hard one for me to make. The double PMX is much harder decision for me
