Feeling good after meeting with surgeon

I received my diagnosis (invasive ductal carcinoma) and was able to meet with my surgeon today.

After looking at all of the pros and cons, I decided to have double mastectomy without reconstruction.

He let me pick the date because I wanted to get harvest completed so surgery will be Friday, November 6th.

I'll be home in time to watch my Iowa State Cyclones play Oklahoma.

I've been thinking all week about the Oklahoma State students, faculty, and community.

It is just terrible. I heard today that the young woman had a history of mental illness andwas trying to kill herself. OSU has had more than their share of tragedies - from airplane crashes to this. It is very sad.
