Hi everyone, hope you are all well. Last year on August 29th, I had to have surgery to remove my ducts in my right breast, due to a clear sticky discharge. My path report said I had multiple papillomas, several cysts, CCC and hyperplasia. Anyway, near enough a year to the day I found blood in my bra from my left breast. I panicked. I gave my nipple a bit of a squeeze and lots of blood came out. I've been to see the surgeon and she said it looks like it's the same thing as last year and told me she would send out another appt to go back and see her.

I thought that if it was the same then surely I should have surgery to remove the ducts? Not that I actually want surgery, but I can't help but worry.

Another symptom I've got this time is a very itchy nipple with a slight burning feeling. It's that itchy I feel like crying.

Any advice ?

hi Miah-xx, I had a central duct excision last Nov...after 5 bouts of mastitis throughout the year and then a bloody discharge from my right nipple. I developed necrosis of the nipple after surgery and have lost part of my nipple. I then went 8 months without any symptoms but now have breast pain again with multiple lumps...I'm on antibiotics for the infection and my GP was reluctant for me to have another mammogram while I am so tender. My nipple has also started to get itchy...it hasn't had much feeling since my surgery.

I go back to my GP next week. She is going to check on the lumps she measured before I went onto antibiotics to see if there is any change...maybe back to the breast specialist then.

No guarantee that removing the ducts will get rid of your problem, as I have learnt! My left breast is fine.

It is quite scary, annoying and I'm just over it!!! I have many cysts in both breasts at every o'clock but no pain in the left breast!

I hope you get some answers soon.
