Theradome laser hair restoration
Dear Community Members,
We wanted to let you know about a new product that supports people recovering from excessive hair loss caused by chemotherapy and helps them to regrow their hair. It is called Theradome LH80 Pro, and it is the first FDA-cleared laser hair restoration for use at home. The helmet is safe and easy to use— you only need to wear the helmet twice a week, 20 minutes per session. Check out before and after photos and learn more at www.theradome.com. Results from their clinical studies showed that all participants benefited from using the Theradome™ and experienced one or more of the following: A minimization and slowing down of hair loss; A doubling of hair follicle size for existing hair; New growth of healthy hair. It is costly ($895.00), but could be shared, or donated further to others.
Our Theradome helmet has already been donated. But, we'll get it passed along. Sorry, wish we had more!
Take a look and let us, or the company, know what you think,
Thanks,
The BCO Team

Mods, this is great. As someone who never regrew enough hair after taxotere to go wigless, this is quite something. I've tried everything else. Certainly worth a shot. I'll have to check to see if anyone has heard of it where I am and has it available for rent or on a payment plan or something. Thank you very much!
-
Wow, my hair didn't come back much after Taxotere either - not able to go wigless or hatless for the last 7 years - would love to know if this works - yes, it's pricey but not impossible - is it available in Canada?? Ontario??? - Must check this out.
-
Just wondering has anyone tried this after to chemo to see if speeds up the process of hair regrowth? I start chemo in jan 2016 and had debated the cold caps but not sure i want to spend so much for something only 50-60% effective and with all the hassle. Now if insurance paid i would give cold caps a shot!! But this is suppose to make hair stronger and thicker and my hair is thin anyway so that would be nice in addition to regrowth.
-
I could be wrong, but I think the hair follicle has to be intact. Most of the follicles on the top of my head were completely killed or severely narrowed by taxotere so the dermatologist didn't think it would work for me. If your follicles are ok, I imagine this would work very well.
-
This worries me. I have androgenetic alopecia so I was on the hair loss path already. Mom doesn't have much, lots of diffuse thinning. I started Taxotere after 4 rounds of AC 2 weeks ago. I have 3 more to go every 3 weeks. I fear I last saw a nice hair do for the last time a couple months ago.
-
Just wondering, since it has been almost 4 months since this was first posted has anyone tried this? Does it work? Seriously thinking about getting one? Thanks for any info
-
Just was reading the website documents for www.theradome.com and saw this:
Maximum Scalp Coverage
Treats all areas affected by androgenetic alopecia for best possible results.
So maybe it would work for you?
-
Has anyone with long-term Taxatare hair-loss tried this yet?
-
We too are very interested in hearing feedback from anyone who has tried this out! If you have had any experience with this, please post here to let others know. Thanks so much!

I found a similar device called "Igrow". I purchased it via QVC.com. They had a 3 installment payment plan which made it very affordable and it was $545. It has worked WONDERS for me. I no longer have a bald spot at the top of my head. Please check QVC . http://www.qvc.com/iGrow-by-Apira-Science-Hands-Fr...

As an aside to this topic, it just saddens me that we, at least I wasn't, are not told that we might, more than likely, experience permanent baldness as a result of the poison put into our veins! Makes me so very angry to only recently have discovered this, being 8 years out of treatment. All this time I was thinking what is happening. Why am Iosing my hair. It grew back after treatment, not as lush, but still grew back. Then just started falling out again. I tried vitamins, shampoos, thickeners, everything imaginable, my hairdresser even suggested it might be stress related, and all the time it was the Taxotere. This is wrong that we are not totally and completely informed. I was just told that there would be temporary hair loss, devastating, yes, but doable. Permanent - NO! I was getting so severely depressed. This is a crime. When you buy a drug, you have a warning of all the potential side effects, why do we not have the same for chemo? Please, please do not say, "but it saved your life." I absolutely hate this condescending response. What kind of life is it when you walk around looking like a mutant and hating yourself while looking in the mirror. Thinking that your husband is thinking the same thing. Thank God, this laser treatment device came along.

Moderators, have you had any feedback from whoever you donated the helmet to, yet?

hello all, I just wanted to touch base with those of you following this thread. I went to my Dr the end of Oct, 2016 and requested a full panel work up on my thyroid not just the 3 they usually test in case my thyroid was contributing to my hair issues- which it can, also my B12- which can affect it, too. She suggested also testing my vitamin D levels, which can affect many different things including hair loss, thinning etc. All came back normal except my vitamin D which was 17, normal is 30 to 100. She put me on a prescription dose of 50,000 units of D 3 taken once a week for 12 weeks. We retested then it raised to 26 still low so prescribed another 12 week course. Now for the good news-I have eyebrows woohooo and new hair growth in my bald spots, hair is growing, not as much breakage. It took almost the full 12 weeks before I and my hairdresser saw the difference. We took pictures to compare when I go back next week. I go every 5 weeks. I have hope it will continue to fill in and thicken😃 I urge everyone to have their vitamin D tested, it is a simple blood test. There are studies out that link low vitamin D to some cancers inc breast. Also studies that show Cancer treatments -chemo, anti hormonal treatments can affect vitamin D levels. Our bodies actually convert Vitamin D into a hormone that is necessary for our entire body to function properly. I hope this helps others, too
-
Wow, good to hear about that for you Belleeast.. I hope it continues!
-
Thanks, Jackster. I am in my 4th week of the 2nd 12wk course. I hope it continues, too. I still have a long ways to go but I am hopeful. It feels so strange to look in the mirror and see eyebrows after 51/2 yrs.I am aiming to get my level up to at least 60. It has also helped with my energy, muscle and joint pain and other benefits. It kinda upsets me that this is the first time anyone thought to test it, I am 5yrs out from chemo, who knows how long it has been low!!
-
Hi. Any updates on these hair grow systems?
-
I'll ask about my vitamin D, as my hair is still pretty thin.
-
Update on my Vitamin D levels, I was retested after my 2nd 12 week course. The test was done almost 2 weeks after my last 50,000 iu dose. Not good-back to my original level of 17!!!
My Dr now wants me to take 10,000 iu a day, retest in 12 weeks. There is no prescription dose for that amount. After doing some research, I ordered Thorne Vitamin D3 10,000 iu capsules. While doing my research I discovered I should be taking K 2 supplements at the same time to make sure that any calcium the D3 makes goes to my bones not to my heart or arteries!!!! Why don't Drs tell us these things??? After more research, I ordered Innovix full spectrum K2- it has 2 subtypes mk 4 and mk 7, both have excellent benefits. From my research, I learned also do NOT take K 1, it causes your blood to clot.
So the plan now is to take Thorne's D310,000 iu with Innovix K 2, also take with meal that has fat in it for better absorption!
Hopefully after my level gets to where it needs to be 50 or 60,
I plan to go on a maintenance dose using Thorne's liquid Vitamin D 3 plus the Innovix K2. Right now if I used the liquid I would have to use 20 drops.
I was wondering what my level would be at because after the initial growth, my hair stalled out and I haven't seen any additional thickness. I am still hopeful that after my levels raise, I will see more thickness!
This is just my experience, always do your own research and check with your Dr before adding supplements. It is very important to be monitored by your Dr and blood tests when taking high doses of any supplements or medications
