marwa, I'm so sorry about your surprise diagnosis. Sometimes the surgical pathology turns out to be different from what the pre-surgery imaging or biopsy, or from what a surgeon thinks he or she will find. Has your surgeon discussed doing a follow up surgery to get clear margins and to look at your sentinel node? Deanna

I was just recently diagnosed on September 16 with invasive ductal carsinoma measures 1.9, and I had a big needle biopsy to confirm my cancer. I am overwhelmed, but I can't fathom how you must feel. I will pray for you and hope your doctor works quickly to do what has to be done for you. I m here if you need to talk.

I can't wait to get the surgery to get the show on the road and get it over with. I had a breast lumpectomy surgery in California in 1982 and the anesthesia didn't put me out and I felt every cut of the scalpal it was excruciating pain and they finially discovered I was not out, but they did put me out then. They said something happened to where the anesthesia paralized me to where I could not respond. The anestheologist said my eyes responded to the pain and he told the surgeon to stop till he had me under. My surgeon for this surgery promised he will make sure I am out this time.
