I'm not sure where to post this, but I found this video fascinating and thought others might too. I came across it on the MD Anderson website, it is a actor portrayal of oncologist discussions on treating patients and some of the challenges they face.

Tang, Thank you for bringing this here. The thoughts in many ways are universal. I know as nurse, I could identify with them easily. As a person who has had cancer, I'm not sure I can separate my understanding because of too close a contact with it all. I am very appreciative to have seen it.

Tang, how did you feel seeing it? If you aren't comfortable saying, please, just say so.

One of the lines that really struck me (not quoting verbatim) is about certainty. The woman says that medicine is about uncertainty but one of the things that patients want is certainty. That's a good thing to remember when we are feeling mad or frustrated because of the uncertainty many of us encounter.

this whole video struck a chord with me. I was interested in hearing how MO's think and feel about the day in and day out of cancer. I was left wondering why anyone would choose to get into oncology to begin with. It must be extremely draining on many levels.

I also thought the uncertainty part was interesting and just as frustrating as it always was.
