Acid reflux

can radiation give you increased acid reflux since I already suffer from it?? I feel my acid reflux has been acting up since starting radiation 4 weeks ago. I have constant burning.

Anyone here with the same situation?

It's not the rads, but the positioning. Lying flat on your back with your arms over your head stretches the esophagus and places traction on the area where it meets the stomach, thereby encouraging icky reflux. I had this discussion with my RO, who explained it much better than I have here. I wonder whether taking something like a Tums shortly before treatment might help?

I've noticed my acid reflux has gotten worse since I started treatment.
