How long can you wait before starting chemo/herceptin.

I had lumpectomy 2 wks ago. Onco say no rads due to age (77) but chemo & herceptine. My question is could I wait until Jan. to start. Any one know of that long of wait?? I know I will have to talk to Onco but I would like to know if a 3 month wait is unusual. Very early stage 1a with clean borders and neg nodes.
