I finished rads 9 days ago. I did 21 days of the Canadian method with integrated boost. I have a lot of oozing under my breast. I have a large open raw area. My RO Rx me the silver sulfer stuff and I use that 3x a day.
How long will this oozing last? It oozes so much it gets my cami wet and gross. I have tried putting sterile pads under it to colletct the grossness. I can't wear a bra.
I am also sore under my arm and breast. It feels like the skin or muscles are tight. This started about 1-2 days after I finished rads. Will this go away? And how long?
When will I stop oozing and hurting? I'm ready for this to be done.
Thank you

I did not have your skin issues, but my RO really drummed into my hard little head that as long as any of us are having sores, oozing, or any skin concerns, we should be showing up at the rads center at least weekly. Unannounced dropping in was fine in my hospital, as there are always nurses and at least one RO on site, ready to see anyone and everyone who needs to be seen. Ditto for your skin/muscle tightness, which is no doubt a result of rads, and any post treatment trauma (I showed up with PTSD). You can try gentle stretching (I used to lie on the floor, reach my rads arm out to the side, then just gradually turned away, just until I felt the pull). A lymphedema therapist can also be helpful in managing that tightness, but may not be able to touch you until your skin has healed

The day after my last rad (25 th) the entire irradiated area 'opened up' and poured fluid CONTINUALLY. Nothing I did helped, Sulfadene/Silvadene was not an option for me as I am allergic to Sulfdrugs - Thankfully no infections ever developed. My Dr finally had me try Domeboro soaks to try to dry it - it worked great. I ended rads(and burn presented the next day) early March - the last scabs came off June 29th.
Domeboro is a powder that is dissolved in sterile water and them used to soak. It is an OTC product (but is usually kept behind the counter so have to ask for it) can be gotten at any good pharmacy.
Ask your Dr before trying it if you want to try!

Since you just moved cross country, try a walk in clinic, or the local ER. Or call your old doc.

I think I've turned the corner. I still have pain but less and I can see new skin growing in pink. It's oozing less now too.
I've been sending pictures to my RO in CA (he told me too). Since he's one of the leading ROs in the country he gets a lot of medical tourism patients and he has them do the same with the pictures.
The oozing grossness is just so gross. I will be happy to be all healed.
