hi guys while I awaited my test results last week ye were my saviour so can I start by saying thanks! Here's my deal

I'm 32, mom of one dd. 2weeks ago today I found a 'large' (to me!) lump on my right breast more or less taking over the entire nipple area. I've never had a lump before andreally freaked. On the Monday I went to my gp and he tried to allay my fears and said he was almost 100% certain it was a fibroadenoma but he wanted to be sure so he sent me to a local breast clinic.

At the clinic the consultant was really rude and flippant towards me, she basically palpitated my right breast, said 'ya that's a fibroadenoma we will do an ultrasounds anyway and then u can go home'. She made me feel like I was ridiculous and wasting her time.

I had the ultrasound and the radiologist confirmed that he too felt it was a fibroadenoma but it was slightly questionable so he did a core needle biopsy and took three samples. I had to wait until yesterday to get the results.

I was a nervous wreck all week and when the call came yesterday the nurse said it was good news everything was fine. She was just to about to hang up when I asked her for more info I wanted to know if they would remove the fibroadenoma as I wasn't comfortable with having to monitor it (I honestly wouldn't know if it changed) when she said oh no there was no evidence of fibroadenoma just fibrocystic breast changes and something about density?!?!

Is it possible that my gp the consultant and the radiologist were all wrong in their assumption about fibroadenoma? I know I might be paranoid but I'm wondering how they all felt it was fibroadenoma and now it isn't. Should I get a second opinion (have had previous experience with reports going wrong misinformation etc)?

Sorry but I really feel something isn't right, it's as if they were talking about someone else completely. Am hoping someone can calm my fears thanks x

Cailin , I would get a copy of the U/S report as well as the biopsy report. At least that way you can know for sure what it says rather than relying on a phone report from someone who may not even be a nurse. Good luck.
