Your opinion please -- was this a sign?
Found a lump in my breast about July 1. Asked God to send me a sign to let me know how things would turn out. The next morning when I woke up the caller ID said, "breast cancer". I looked up the phone number, it was a bogus bc charity. This number appeared on the caller ID every morning for 43 days until I got the biopsy report that said I had bc. Never got the call again after that day. Never answered these calls., deleted them all, so it's not like I gave them encouragement. I believe this was the sign I asked for. My mother, who doesn't believe in anything intangible, says I'm stupid and it was just coincidence. What do you think?

It's going to be interesting to see what kind of responses you get on this thread for sure. Personally, I think there are no coincidences. Everytime something happens, good or bad, I can certainly look back and find a reason (or signs, as it were) that I didn't pay attention to at the moment, even if it's just karma. Do I think these signs come from Gawd? No. I think sometimes you just get lucky, or unlucky as the case may be. I am so sorry about your diagnosis. Hang tough.

Dear Ebony Eyes, That's a very big, & insightful, question. I'm wondering if you have an empathic personality. That is...do you feel things deeply (including the emotions of others?) If so, you have been blessed with a special & unique gift.
To answer your question, in my opinion, it sounds possible the phone calls were the answer to the question you asked God. Perhaps others, like your mom, are not inclined to believe in that sort of thing & that is fine. We are all unique individuals and have the right to our own opinions & interpretations of events.Personally, I've had a few rather unusual occurances/signs during the past 10 yrs or so. (Only 1 of them was related to my recent breast cancer diagnosis.)
However, the very 1st incident was a particularly beautiful & joyful "dream" (while I was sleeping.) That 1st one, & a few other "off/on signs or dreams," have led me on quest to discover more about the meaning of life. That includes the good things & the bad things, the beauty & love surrounding us & a deeper feeling of spirituality and trust in God. Xoxoxo -
Dear Ebony Eyes,
How could it be anything but a heavenly sign . It moved you to action and it is too weird of a happening to think it was just happenstance. How are you now in your journey?

Even if the call wasn't from God, your close loving relationship with God may have led you to a understanding of the message that wasn't the intent of the caller. And surely that's enough.
Blessed be.

Ebony Eyes:
I believe it was a sign from God. He communicates with us in so many ways. How are you doing after your diagnosis?
