Am I crazy??
Can mets feel like sciatic pain? I've had pain on my right side for a long time and recently it's begun to really bother me. I was thinking it was sciatic, but the pain doesn't start in the back. It is on my right hip and it goes down toward my knee and even recently I've been bothered by foot/ankle pain.
I know foot/ankle is uncharacteristic of mets, but what about the other? I've also had periods of numbness in my bottom. Thoughts?

I am not sure how much it will help but I just bumped a recent thread on a similar topic for you. You are not crazy.
My herniated disc never gave me back pain however the numbness down the leg was a problem. Needed an MRI for diagnosis then resolved with steroid injections into the spine.

Sciatic pain doesn't necessarily have to start in your back, and what you're describing sounds pretty typical for it. And the foot/ankle pain can be the result of favoring that leg and walking a bit differently than you would if you weren't experiencing pain in your hip.
OTOH, any pain that lasts for several weeks needs an accurate dx and tx. So perhaps an MRI would be something to ask for so that you can get some PT RX'd, as well as peace of mind about any other possible causes.

Tang...you are absolutely not crazy. I just had an episode 2 weeks ago with extreme hip pain where I could not walk or even cross my legs. At the time I was at my PS office for follow-up of my breast revision and he noticed that I was in extreme pain. He had his therapist come in and take a look. They had "the look of concern" and suggested I go to the ER to get x-rayed. My first thoughts were mets. Because I work for 2 bone radiologists I sent a text telling one of them to look out for me. I was soooooo afraid. And also you should know that I suffer badly from spinal stenosis on my left side and have had two injections, the last one being on July 31st. Well after taking x-rays of the hip and pelvis it was discovered that I had an abductor tear in my thigh/groin area. I was so happy with the diagnosis, but the pain was horrific. I feel much better now, but it will take a few months before I will be completely healed.
So all this to say,..I think you are fine, however, an x-ray of the area should be done to reassure you that everything is ok,
