Today's my first day of radiation treatment to my left breast and lymph nodes and I have 35 more treatments to go. I have tissue expander's and I will have reconstruction surgery 5 to 9 months after radiation. My radiation oncologist reassures me there is a very low risk for a poor outcome to reconstructive surgery or any negative effects to the size, shape or look of my left breast. I'm thankful my tissue expander's look as well as they do . I'm worried radiation will change that or I will have a poor outcome when I have implant surgery. Is anyone happy with their breast after radiation and implant surgery

I had radiation with expanders last September. I had my exchange last April, so I have had my implants for about 4.5 months. Could they look better? Yeah. Are they terrible? No, not at all. I have some fat grafting scheduled for next month - in a little uneven and lefty (the radiated side) is a little discolored around my scar. PS said that fat grafting may improve the oolor. So I'm happy and hopefil.

    I hope that helps.

    Jen
