Hi Patty,
I saw in a couple of other threads that you've been pretty ill and almost back in the hospital. I hope you are feeling better and have rebounded. Your husband sounds wonderful. He loves you very much! Please keep us posted. Sending gentle hugs.

thanks ladies. Had another horrible night something about night time. Always is worse. Feeling a lil better. At least I am sitting upright.
-
-
sweet Patty,
I'm hoping you are having a better night tonight! I know that you have had such a tough year. I always wish for a magic wand to heal people with. Too bad it's not realistic. You'd think that by now there would be a better course of treatment for breast cancer patients after all the time and money we've all thrown into it.
Anyhow, sending you a big hug since I have no magic wand. I hope it offers some comfort. (((((((Hugs))))))))

love it. Thanks. Had another horrible day and night yesterday. But today I am much better. Amazing. Fingers crossed.
-
Crossing fingers and toes for you.

-
thanks.
So I am so wishy-washy. All day today I have thought at my Mo appt Friday I tell them no more tx. My concern is will he still prescribe my pain meds, send me to pain mgmt. Or hospice. I don't want to suffer in pain. Mo had said previously even if I stop tx I very well may live many years or a few months. Who knows since in bones only . 2 more days I am likely to change my mind again several times. Ugh the rollercoaster. If only I could get some quality of life I would fight but I just don't have it very often. Ugh. Decisions decisions ??????????
-
Patty rollercoasters you do not need.
Sounds like you do not have all the info for making a decision yet.
When you do, then you will make the best decision based on the information.
When your MO gives you answers to your questions, you will have more information, and be in a better place for making the best decision.
Love and hugs. XXX
-
(((HUGS))) Sweet Patty, agreeing with Feline that you need more information.
Perhaps it would help if you start the appointment by telling MO what you told us: "If only I could get some quality of life I would fight but I just don't have it very often."
That will start the conversation. Maybe side effects need to be managed better, maybe pain needs to be controlled, or maybe fatigue is an issue.
MO can then give you some options.
When you have good days they are very good and you are happy. I don't think you're ready to give up. I do think you need more support and strength.
Holding you close in my thoughts and prayers, love ❤️ Madelyn

I love these ladies coming along side to encourage you. I agree that your meds side effects and pain need to be better managed. I can understand why you want to stop treatment on bad days. Hugs and kisses. Got to work now. Talk to you more later.
-
Sending you gentle hugs!
-
Patty, I am sorry that you are going through such a difficult time right now, and I realize that none of us can truly understand the physical pain and emotional struggle you are experiencing. We can try to imagine what it is like, but only you are living it.
Madelyn has given you some excellent advise about how to begin your conversation with your MO. Before you go, make a list of your questions, concerns, and priorities, and take that list with you. It is easy to forget important details when you are in the midst of what is to be an important and most likely emotional discussion.
I am surprised that you are not already seeing a pain management or palliative care specialist. In my simple mind, I think of an MO as the person who is trying to control the growth and spread of cancer, whereas a pain management or palliative care specialist focuses on easing pain and finding the best path to a good QOL. Pain mgmt and palliative care teams can be brought into your care at any time, ideally early in your treatment, not just when your treatment options are limited. Maybe the specialists working together would be able to control your SEs and pain enough for you to think about continuing treatment. As others have pointed out, when you feel good, you are happy and want to continue on.
My hope is that you will be able to find a way back to a good QOL. I know things are hard for you. Remember that we are all here for you, no matter what you decide to do. You are a warm, caring women, and you add value to these boards. I pray that you find the answers and help that you deserve andare looking for.
Big hugs, Lynne

Well said Lynne!
-
Patty ~ If only you could take The Mominator and 50sgirl with you to your appointment. Both are such excellent advisers.
Wondering if maybe you need a gastrointestinal doc for the nausea, vomiting and D? You've had such a bad time with all that, even before the new treatment.
Fully agree that a pain or palliative care specialist could help.
Prayers for pain free and happy days to come again soon and stay!
