IDC Neoadjuvant AND adjuvant Chemotherapy

My Dx was in April and I started immediate Neoadjuvant treatment with Taxotere, Herceptin, and Perjeta. I did 4 treatments followed by a bilateral mastectomy. My oncologist is requiring me to do 3 treatments of 3 different chemotherapy drugs before radiation. She told me it was because I have IDC and that it is standard. Has anyone else had this therapy? I'm trying to figure out if this is outdated therapy because I get my treatments in a very small town. She did tell me that I will also have Herceptin for a year and Tamoxifin for 5.

My surgeon is positive he got all of the cancer that was left, which wasn't but a tiny tumor because the treatments did wonderfully. I just don't know if I should ask for a second opinion or what. My oncologist seems to always talk over my concerns or I would just make an appointment and talk to her.

Thanks!!

what is your diagnisosis? I had tchp going in for surgery in about a week but no plan for adjuvant chemo we are of course hoping for pcR but even if there isn't i think the plan is to continue with oerjeta and herceptin the rest of the year..I think adjuvant would only be if the neoadjuvant didn't work wel

I never asked for stage because I didn't want a number to dictate my attitude going in to treatment. I am thinking because of size of tumor and 1 node involved that I am stage 2-3. Before treatment I had 2 breast tumors and 1 positive node. After 4 treatments I had 1 tumor left (70% smaller) and no positive nodes, this was determined during the mastectomy.
