So...now what?

Hello everyone... I was diagnosed with BC three years ago,,,lumpectomy and RADs, started Tamoxofen Jan 2013, All has been fine (with minimal side effects) until mid August..when suddenly, without warning, I got my period (hadn't had it since Oct 2012). WHAT A SURPRISE! Called Onc, was told to stop Tamox... bleeding stopped within 3 days of no more tamox. (total of 10 days of bleeding) Had ultrasound, all looked normal. Had endometrial biopsy yesterday and am scheduled for hydrosonogram next week. Now that sounds like a "fun" little procedure! Of course, with menopause and Tamox, all lady parts have shrunk up and are pretty crumbly.... Gyno said yesterday that my lining is "thin"

So... is this a typical thing?

on the positive side... I've lost almost 5 pounds since stopping tamox

I'm no doctor but yes, I think post-meno the lining can be thin. Your gyno would be the best person to ask since she has your complete picture. Good luck with your procedures. Sometimes women get polyps (even unrelated to tamox) or other benign conditions, so I'm glad you're getting this checked out.

Hello All..so a bit of an update.... biopsy and scan showed polyps, which I'm having removed on Friday. Saw ONC last week and he did blood work to determine hormone levels...guess what... I'm STILL peri-menopausal. So... even though I hadn't had a period for 3 years due to Tamoxofen...something must still be ticking inside there. (and, honestly I'm not surprised at the peri-menopausal determination... I've been very emotional the last 2 weeks, a bit crampy, and my mom had hot flashes and was menopausal into her late 50's) ONC says Arimidex is not an option now... and I should rely on what OBGYN recommends as a followup. I know he's going to say pull it all... which, honestly, I am just not ready to do. It's not that I'm going to use it for anything,... but it seems a bit radical. Thoughts? Opinions? Questions I should be prepared to ask?
