Just turned 25..how can this possible?!
So I've been surfing the web and came across this site a couple weeks ago. I finally decided to post my "story" in hopes of some sort of information that Google hasn't scared me with 😔
I'm a mom to 4 kids, I'm married to my high school sweet heart, and I just turned 25 (9/5). In 2014, after years of a VERY heavy, long lasting period, I was placed on the estrogen only birth control pill. After a couple months, I noticed a lump in my left breast. I assumed it was a normal breast change from the new hormones in my system. Well unfortunately, I suffered a minor stroke from the pill, and was taken off of it. Fast forward to spring 2015, the lump has grown. I was honestly afraid to get it checked out. My mom was diagnosed at 38 with IDC. Then again in her late 40's. I finally went in in august (I know I waited way too long) and my dr sent me for an u/s. I went for the ultrasound and figured they would say "oh it's nothing, you're fine." The tech brought in the radiologist, and he explained what benign masses should look like, and how mine was not the typical presentation of a benign mass. So off to get a diagnostic mammogram I went. After that, I was told I needed a biopsy. Well the Army doesn't seem to do anything in a timely matter, so the biopsy isn't scheduled until the 15th. My Bi-rads score is 4. I have an ill defined, not circumscribed mass with hypoehoic, posterior shadowing. The mass was "pointy" and had blood vessels infiltrating it's. The biopsy will take 7-10 days for results. The waiting is killing me. What does all of this mean

Missarmy04, I am so glad you have found this wonderful website. There are ladies here who are great at explaining the medical technical results, I hope someone responds soon who knows more than me. Until then, I know the waiting is excruciating....we have all been there, and I can say we are here waiting with you. Please do not despair, even if you do get the results of cancer, that is not a death sentence. We are all living proof of that!. You can regain your good health...Resist the urge to mash around on your breast/lump, you will only make yourself sore. Please try to do normal things, love on those children, stay busy. The time will pass so much slower if you do not. Hoping for benign results for you. Keep us updated.

Hi missarmy, welcome to Breastrcancer.org! We're sorry for the worry that brings you here, but glad you found us and decided to reach out!
BIRADS score of 4 according to our site states: Suspicious abnormality: means that there are suspicious findings that could turn out to be cancer. http://www.breastcancer.org/symptoms/testing/types...
The waiting is horrible, we all know, so while you wait for the biopsy, it may help ease your mind to read through the article What Mammograms Show: Calcifications, Cysts, Fibroadenomas from our main site, that reinforces that there are many other benign masses, including some that are especially common among young women.
Best wishes for benign results, and please keep everyone here updated on how you're doing - we're all here to support you.
Hugs,
The Mods
