IF IT QUACKS LIKE A DUCK ... ANOTHER BREAST UPDATE

Hi all -- I hope it's okay that I post this here.  I posted several months ago with having IBC symptoms ... left breast pain, swelling, left breast enlargement and pink discoloration bilaterally.  I was SURE I had IBC.  I was treated for mastitis with three different antibiotics and failed.  It has now been 7 months, and I was conclusively ruled out for IBC, although I'm still having a lot of pain, which has now progressed down my left arm.  I was hoping to post a definitive answer as to what I have in case someone else found themself in my situation ... I'm not necessarily sure I will ever know, but so far, it is believed I have peripheral neuropathy.  The doctors are not sure what could be causing it and I am being worked up, but the enlargement of the breast is from breast feeding, and it's possible that it is impinging a nerve.  Dr. C also said I could possibly have lupus.  With my point being... please get your symptoms checked out, but please try not to freak out.  Even if you have symptoms consistent with IBC, you may not have it.

JJMama, I am so glad to hear you know for sure, and that it is not IBC. I know it has been hard on you, the not knowing. And I know others will so appreciate your above advice. I hope you can find appropriate treatments for the symptoms you have. Hugs to you!
