Breast pain

I have deep breast pain where my lumpectomy was. I had a big chunk removed (6 cm x 5 cm x 2 cm). I also started rads only 2 weeks out of surgery.

Is it typical to have breast pain? This is deep not the skin issues. It hurts More than the actual lumpectomy did. I'm thinking its upset and inflamed nerves. Advil does help. I will mention it to RO on Thursday. But just seeing if this is normal or not.

Thanks!

    hello CAMommy,

I also have breast pain. I had my lumpectomy in April and have deep pain from time to time. I brought it up with a nurse during a visit with my MO and she told me it is the nerves. I'm wondering how long it will last. I am just finishing up chemo (one more to go!) and will start radiation next month

CAMommy, I had my lumpectomy in May, finished radiation mid August. I still occasionally will have that deep pain. Sometimes it's sharp, other times a deep ache. I was also told that it's nerves that have been upset. I'm hoping it stops soon but know that healing takes time. I have noticed that long car rides makes it much worse (I think it's the vibration?).

I talked to my RO yesterday and he said yes, it's inflamed nerves and to take Advil.
