So, here I am....

Gah! I just called my doctor's office and they said they haven't received anything yet. So frustrating!!!
-
The waiting is THE WORST!! Hang in there!
-
Grr. I am sorry that you don't have answers yet.
Waiting sucks.
-
And because I'm a psycho, I just called the breast center directly. They also told me the results are not yet in. I'm going to have lots of "friends" by the time I get results, lol. I don't do waiting well
-
It's enough to make you psycho! I don't know why in this day and age anyone has to wait longer than 72 hours..... -
hang in there aggie....try to stay busy and off of Dr Google while you wait. Best wishes for B9 results.
-
Psycho? Absolutely not! I'm sure it was a LOOOONG weekend--can't imagine still having to wait! My BS called me less than 24 hours later with my biopsy results. Hopefully you've heard something by now...
-
Thank you all! Nope, no news yet. But, to be fair, they said 3-5 business days, and today was only 2 business days, thanks to the holiday weekend. I kept busy with my sweet boys, dancing around like a bunch of crazies tonight, and now, they're in bed, so I think I'll paint some more....gotta stay busy!!
-
keepthefaith - It's like you are spying on me! I've been obsessing over my mammogram/ultrasound results and punching various phrases into Google most of the day. So silly, but I just want to know something, ugh!
Seriously, I don't know how it is possible that I waited until my second son was born to find out the gender! And that didn't make me crazy at all
-
I'm sorry the results are taking so long! I feel your pain. My ultrasound/mammogram was on Aug 28. Biopsy isn't until sept 15, and results take 7-10 business days after that. Damn Army hospitals lol! I hope you get benign results!! I'm constantly filing everything and reading over my imaging stuff as well. My mom has had IDC twice, so I ask her a million questions too.
-
Missarmy - Oh wow, that would make me crazy! I guess I should be thankful things moved so fast with my biopsy!
I just heard back from my nurse navigator and she said that because my biopsy was done in the afternoon on Thursday, and the holiday on Monday, it will most likely be Friday before I get an answer. Guess I need to just assume it will be Friday and get busy with all my work that has been piling up
-
Grr. That is such a long wait. I am sorry. -
Aggiemegs, I am going through something similar. I felt a lump in my right breast, went in for a diagnostic mammogram and ultrasound yesterday and the doctor said she found two areas of concern. The palpable mass didn't look good and worried her. I ended up having the biopsies done yesterday afternoon and won't get my results until Monday morning. I find myself shocked and scared. I am a mom of two little girls ages 11 and 7. Please keep me updated on your results. Not knowing how much my life will change after this is very scary. I bet you feel the same way. I pray we both get good news soon.
-
Mama -- we're thinking of you too! Please keep us posted on your results!

Aggie,
I just had my bx. I'm supposed to get results by Friday.
My bxs have always come back within 48 hours. That you've been waiting nine days now--six without the holiday--would seem a true eternity. Keep on them with nice, firm and frequent contacts.
-
Perhaps it's the downside to living so close to a huge cancer facility? Lots of patients....
I've actually entered a place in my mind where I suddenly DON'T want them to call. I'm still healthy until I get that call....damn roller coaster
-
Aggie,
I found I got to that place too, not wanting them to call because until then, damn I'm healthy. I think it's a good place to be while waiting. I found I got lots done then as I just finally stopped thinking about it and felt good getting ahead with things that needed doing! Absolutely it is a roller coaster though.
Aggie and MamaFoye, thinking of you both, and let us know how things go this week!

just got the call. Triple negative IDC. Appt with BS at 12:30 tomorrow. Have to get kiddos off the bus, will be back later..
-
English: How are you and all? Hanging in there. Have appointment with BS Monday, 9/14, 10:30 a.m. to get results. Boy is this wait hard! Have been researching family history in anticipation of comprehensive risk assessment, and it's making me a little nervous. And sad. But we'll get through.
Can't remember which thread I posted something funny on: was it here that I mentioned the horrible itchy rash I got after biopsy? I think it was from iodine solution they use to disinfect skin pre-surgery. Right breast, shoulder, upper arm, torso, flank, etc. Sheesh! I hated to ask my (wonderful) hubby to douse me with colloidal oatmeal spray. I was a red, blotchy mess. Isn't love wonderful LOL!
Aggiemegs, thinking of you today and praying for good results. How great to have reassuring friends here to let you know that, even if cancer dx, making and starting up a plan will bring some relief. Big hugs.
-
So sorry you have to be a member of this club. I hate that you are so young. I think you will find the triple negative thread very helpful. I wish they could get a handle on this damn disease! We are all here for you. At least the waiting is over and you now know what you are dealing with. I know it's not the news you wanted to hear. We are all here for you. I will be thinking of you and praying for you.
-
I am sorry.
Hopefully the consultation goes well and answers a lot of your questions. Keep me posted! This prompted me to go check to see if my results were in. Yep. Estrogen and progesterone are negative. Her2 is positive.
-
dtad - Thank you for the advice to check the triple negative group. As of this moment, I really don't know exactly what it means, other than, not great! I'll be reading up tonight!
Skittle - Glad you finally got the rest of your results
-
Oh Aggie & Skittle, I was so hoping you would not have to join one of the crappiest clubs on earth, but since you have, just know we are here for you. Thinking of you. Stay strong.....
-
aggie, Skittle, I'm truly sorry you have to go through this. Know that you will find support and help on the forum when you need it. Your local American Cancer Society has a lot of resources to help get you through also. ((HUGS))
mama, marg, I hope you get good news!:)
-
Aggie, I am praying for you, how are you taking the news? Do you have family close by? I'm so sorry things turned out the way they did for you. Today has been two days since the biopsy and time seems to be standing still. I'm praying that I find things to keep my mind off everything this weekend. Need to stay positive but it's hard
-
Mama: Will be thinking of you with hugs this weekend. I also get some results on Monday. What a rollercoaster of a week. Some days and hours okay, and others tension- and fear-fraught. Will look forward to hearing.
-
Aggie: Just got on this morning and read your news. Will be thinking of and praying for you during this time of exploration and treatment planning. I have a longtime friend whose wife learned she had BC, and friend told me they said to each other, "Okay, so this is just going to be a tough year. We will get through it with love and help and reach the other side." Wishing you strength and sending hugs.

I had a stereotactic biopsy of the left breast and the two spots on the right were done using an MRI guided stereotactic procedure. The one spot on the left, I went back to work the next day. I did take the day after the MRI guided biopsy, but I really didn't need to.
The biopsy wasn't too bad; they numb the area pretty good and my radiologist told me to let them know if I felt any pinching or stinging. They added more lidocaine if I felt anything. Mostly I just felt pressure. Afterward, I used ice, which helped with soreness. The MRI guided biopsy caused a hematoma, but other than that just bruising.
I don't have a final diagnosis yet; one spot is ADH, one is ALH, and another is an atypical papilloma. I'm scheduled to have more samples removed in a week and a half to either find clear margins or determine if there is cancer. I haven't spent a great deal of time worrying about the results. I know that isn't the typical attitude, but my thinking is: worrying about it won't change the results, but it will keep me from living my life. I refuse to do that.
Good luck with your biopsy.
