Hair loss & Radiation

I was fortunate and didn't lose my eye lashes or my eye brows. I am in week 4 of rad all of a sudden on the side I'm getting the radiation, I'm losing my eye lashes. Has anyone else experienced this??? The nurses said that it isn't from the radiation but why is it just on the side I'm getting zapped?

    Welcome!

    Our hair is different on the two sides of our bodies. You may already be aware of your hair being thicker on one side. Eyebrows and lashes grow more slowly than head hair. They may drop out weeks after your last chemo.

    I cannot speak about eyelashes but by the end of my radiation treatment, my hair was noticeably shorter on the radiated side. I went to have my first haircut the day after my last rads and the hair dresser pointed it out me.
