How long can I be on tamoxifen safely

Hello all,

I was diagnosed with stage four breast cancer hormone receptive 8 out of 8. Whatever that means still kind of new to this... With two bone mets on the c2 and lower rib. So not a good picture for me. I'm 51 and a very active person... My oncologist want s me on tamoxifen because it seems to be working. So here comes the question how long can one be on this drug, what has been your experiences with this. I did go to a naturepath to get more info and he put me on metformin now I am to stop that because I lost to much weight on it but if it is what's working....or is this all a crap shoot?
