I am wondering what could cause me to have about three dozen cysts, according to my breast surgeon (directly after surgery). I find out the results of my tissue removal due to spontaneous unilateral bloody nipple discharge in a couple of days. I'm more curious if there is a cause to the obscene amount of cysts I have. I have MS and am wondering if there could be a correlation there. Thank you.

I'm full of them too but you have even more than I do. I'm really small breasted and some of my cysts are large so I think I would go down a cup size (what is smaller than A?) without them. I was told it was just a normal experience for some women and that it would diminish after menopause. What worries me is that they seem to rush through my ultrasound - I would like a good picture of every single one to make sure that none are solid or have debris. I avoid caffeine and it seems to help a little with the most sore ones. I make ice packs out of half sponges soaked in water and put in the freezer. If you find out if there are other factors, please post it.

bloody nipple discharge is often from a fibroadenoma, which is benign. Sounds like you have fibrocystic breasts, which are extremely common. MY gyn told me if you have a lot of cysts, that is a very good sign that things are benign (the more there are, the more likely it's a benign fibrocystic situation.) as far a correlation between bc and MS, I've never heard of any connection between the 2. Hope you get good benign results soon.
