Back pain x3 months ??Lets hope for arthritis!
So I have lower back pain that started May 2nd. I didn't do anything or lift anything, it just showed up over 3ish days. Almost fell over anytime I sneezed it hurt so bad. Hard to sit or get up and painful while laying down but okay once up and walking. I was too afraid to tell my oncologist so I went to a chiropractor (who I am deathly afraid of) thinking that he would order an xray. He didnt, just wanted to crack all my joints every week forever, so I stopped going. 6 weeks ago I went to my GP who have me muscle relaxants but no tests. No impact from the pills. Over the course of 3 months sneezes and coughs are less painful. But the pain still wakes me up at night. Then on Friday I spoke to my Oncologist re: return to work and he asked how I was. When I mentioned seeing my GP he asked what the xray said. When I said no tests were ordered he got VERY quiet and he sent me for xrays and bone scan.
I am sure it's a disc or nerve or arthritis during the day, but at night I lay awake and worry.
Hopefully in a few weeks I will be able to rule out mets. The one thing that bothered me is that the radiologist was only going to do 3D of my lower back and pelvis but after seeing the first part did 3D of my ribs too but I didn't ask why. She said they would call me with results in a few days.
So until then I will go back and forth between sure it's not mets and sure it is. No Dr Google for me

I, too, developed back pain in a very specific area. could not (still can't) lie on that side in bed due to the pain. Also started without any provocation and has been present for several months. Told my oncologist, who ordered a CT scan of the area. All clear, no mets. Pain has slowly improved but is still there and is still localized. Just wanted to give you hope

I understand. My back went wonky for no apparent reason. Hurt to pick my foot up for gas or brake pedals, turn over, walking, etc. I knew I had a bad disk, this pain was different. Intense. Told PCP, he sent me for MRI. Turned out to be arthritis, disk degeneration, stenosis.
It seems crazy to be happy that's what it was, but I am.
I truly hope your pain turns out similar.

Thanks ladies! That is exactly the reassurance I was looking for. I have an appt September 2 to get results. It's going to be a couple long weeks!

yikes! I thought I had updated with results but I didn't. All is well, just degeneration and a new mattress really helped! I am almost pain free!
