Emend - anyone having side effects?

Am finished with 3 of 4 AC. 1st round they did not give me Emend & had only brief nausea. Last 2 rounds I received IV Emend & had terrible heart burn, stomach pain & trouble swallowing. Is this from the Emend, or is the accumulation of AC causing it? I would much appreciate the input as I am thinking of asking them to reduce or skip the Emend next time.

    Hi Heidi-

    We're so sorry for the issues you're having! It could be from the Emend, or the accumulation of the chemo meds, it's hard to say. Perhaps try cutting back on the Emend after your next round, and see if that helps? We hope you find relief!

    I had the emend in pill form and never had problems with it per se but must tell you that chemo gave me tremendous heartburn and I was on Zantac 150s twice a day per oncs recommendation - the emend is supposed to counteract the nausea and it did - it was a godsend for me and many others - talk to you onc or onc nurse - they are a font of knowledge.
