Possible lung cancer or lung mets

I have a lung biopsy last Friday on two spots and 3 lymph nodes in my lung. The Dr said lymphnodes were not involved but he would have to wait on path report to know the rest. Office called to say to cancel my apt and reschedule tomorrow because path reports were no back yet and dr was sick!! But she want me to come back Thursday for brain mri and a ct scan!! Why were these test ordered if the path report is not back yet.

It's probably reactive on her part to the lung biopsies (to do a scan as well). Please don't over-analyze what it means (I know it's hard).

Thanks for replying!! I just remembered he said he was going to try to get those test approved by the insurance because it takes a few day and he wanted to go ahead with biopsy!! He is only on that office 1 day a week and was sick today!! Maybe they are just test he ordered last week just in case!! I hate this worring and waiting!!

To think on the brighter side, if he even worries that insurance might not cover the tests, that means the tests are "just" for precaution, not compelling reasons. Hang in there!

Biopsy results inconclusive!!! Atypical cells so having a pet scan, brain Mti and possibl another biopsy. Oncologist not convinced it's not cancer. Also said he thought is was a primary lung cancer not breast cancer mets!!

I am sorry you don't have answers yet but I am so glad your Onco is taking this to the next level and confirming whats going on.Keep us posted and hopefully you can keep yourself busy until the next test.
