Mets to ovary

I was originally diagnosed with Stage T1a (4mm) breast cancer in September 2012. I had a mastectomy in October2014. I finished herceptin in January 2014. I had a routine scan in March 2014 and the PET scan showed 3 lymph nodes of concern. 1 in my chest wall and 2 under my armpit. I had surgery in April 2014. I did 4 rounds of Taxotere and 17 rounds of Herceptin/ Perjeta, 33 rounds of radiation. I finished my last treatment in June of 2015. Last week, I had a scan and my right ovary lit up. I also had an u/s and the results showed more likely to me mets rather than a new primary ovarian cancer. I am scheduled for a Hysterectomy next Tuesday. Anyone have any thoughts or insight?

Dear SLB

I think only ILC - lobular breast cancer - can cause mets to ovarian . So if your cancer was IDC I don't think it can be mets. Hopefully it is not cancer at all. It could be a kind of cyst . Very best wishes to you.
