Swedish cold cap, DigniCap, at Weill Cornell in New York, NY is hooked up to a refrigeration unit. I wish I heard about this before!!

According to this page on their website http://www.dignicap.com/patients/information-for-us-citizens/ they are running a trial in the US, but trial recruitment is complete, so it's not possible to join the trial anymore (and there were only 5 or 6 treatment centers involved anyway). Good news, though. Thanks for sharing it.

Hi I'm from UK and am using something that looks like this. Don't know if same manufacturer. The cap is - cold! But not at all unbearable. Reminds me of the neoprene hat I used to wear for open water triathlon swims. They put it on, then plug it into a refrigerator unit. You can unplug it to go off to the bathroom, otherwise you're attached to it for half an hour before, then during, then an hour after your treatment infusion - so it does extend the time you have to hang around the chemo unit. But then I need that hour to wake up from the antihistamine medication!

Day 15 and I still have all my hair but it's early days yet.
