Microcalcs AND papilloma mass growth in 9 months?

Hi All,

Long story short in 2012 I was diagnosed with ADH and had a cyst removed from my L breast and 3 lesions from my R via excision. Nov 2014 I was having pain in the L and felt another cyst. A stereotactic biopsy was performed due to microcalcs found in 2 areas. All results were benign.

Went for my Diagnostic mammo Monday for R breast pain. 2.5 hours, 18 views, and a stat ultrasound later, the radiologist came in the room and stated "you have a lot going on in both breasts".. He said there were micocalcs in the L and found new microcalcs in the R along with a mass. Mind you, the mammo and US i had in Nov gave the all clear for the R breast. He told me he wanted my films from Nov to compare and complete his report. I dropped those off Friday. Now the wait begins. He said that what he sees are "probably" more papillomas that are creating this mass and that I will have to have another biopsy. He didn't say anymore as he wanted to do his comparison.

My questions:

Have any of you had recurrences or growth changes so soon after your previous testing?

Can these papillomas grow so much they can cause as mass?

Is there anything to be said for papilloma growth WITH microcalc growth?

Since there was nothing noted on my tests last year, my concern is that in less than a year there are new areas changing and growing. I hope to hear from the Radiologist soon.

Any info or advice you can give me is appreciated.

Hey Lynette -- hope your issues turn out to be nothing. My own experience is that I had a mammogram and a call back for more views and an ultrasound of the left side 8 months before I was diagnosed with invasive cancer. Was given the all clear to come back in a year. I only was diagnosed 8 months later because i has spontaneous discharge that I followed up on. So... yes, things can change...

I was also told that I had "busy breasts", which i had no idea about before being diagnosed. I never requested a copy of the imaging reports. So, my advice to you is if you have a lot going on, and you have dense breast tissue, request an MRI.

I can't help with your other questions -- I'm sure someone will be along who can.

Good luck with your results -- hope they come back B9.
