Not many Her2 ER-/PR- sisters stage 3a??? Looking for similar DX
Wondering if this DX ( her2 ER-PR-) is relatively uncommon. I see a lot of HER 2 ER+/PR+, but few minus minus--which has nothing to do with hormones. Confused about some of the DX I see, but know there is a huge difference. Looking to see experiences of others in this area.
Hope all are doing well. So far so good and working hard to be optimistic about the future. Life is good! Appreciate every day!

I am er/pr negative and slightly her2 positive. Done with chemo, and now only doing the Herceptin every three weeks until March.

Thank you for responding, Italychick. I'm just a little ahead of you on treatment---will finish Herceptin in November. Am very scared being stage 3a, but my oncologist says we're going for a cure--so trying hard to be optimistic. I do know there are success stories out there but I see online the stats are not so good. Better mentally than several months ago. Retired from teaching, been happily busy doing many things which helps a great deal.
Seem to be lots of sub-groups of this disease. Take care--best wishes to you.

have you had any follow up scans? I meet with the MO next week, and I am wondering what to expect. I had an MRI, PET scan, and bone scan before starting chemo.

Hi there! i am er pr neg and her2 positive, stage IIIC with twelve nodes pos. blah, blah blah, that was over 10 years ago and I am FINE!! You will be too.

Hi Alice. I'm stage 3A. Diagnosed 2 years before you. So far I'm doing great. I get my blood work next week and see my MO the following week. And yes, I'm nervous. I quit reading any stats online because if I believed everything I read, I'd be dead in 2 years. I found the best source for info is on this site. Hang in there. Everything gets less stressful as time goes by.
lkc..... That's great news. I hope I'll be posting in 10 years

Hi Linda and Granny--Stage 3 sisters. So excited for you that you're 10 years out---you make me feel a lot better, Linda!! Hope one day to join you. And Granny, I think you're right--stay off the internet. There are lots of positive stories on this site to help us through. Also, sometimes wonder if many online information sites are up-to-date with their stats.
Theresa--Had scans before chemo, radiation, and am on Herceptin until mid Nov. My oncl. said they'll just watch tumor markers every 3 months. He didn't say anything about having more scans at this point. And you?
All this is constantly on my mind--but very busy which helps tremendously. Also, someone wrote: Don't let today's worry rob you of today's joy! Trying to think that way!
Stephanie
(Stephanie is my real name--that was taken so went with my middle name.)

Hi everyone. Count me in. Just got my diagnoses last week. Just waiting on oncology appointment. I've also been looking for others with ER-/PR-, HER2+ status. Surgeon feels chemo first is the way to go.
