Can anyone tell me if I am going to be up for going to a close friends wedding 11 days after a bilateral mastectomy and tissue expanders placement I have missed so much this summer due to my chemo now this wedding I have been looking forward to for a year! Do the drain tubes usually only stay in for a week?? Thank you

I would have been fine with going to a wedding that's close by after 11 days. If it involved travel, I might not have done it. That being said though, if it really meant a lot to me I would probably go. Just know you'll be tired and might need a Valium that night for the aching!

As far as drains go, I had 4. The first 2 came out after about 2 weeks, but I was able to pin the other two to my bra in back when I went to a kind of dressy occasion. Just make sure your dress or top is full, not form-fitting. They didn't show at all.

I am on day 9 right now and I'm going to attemp going to my nephews high school play. A wedding might be a rough one but if it's not far, you can always leave early. I've been told as long as I dont do any lifting or strenuous activity, it's best to get out and about if you are feeling up to it. Just be sure to listen to your body

I maybe could have done that. I still had a drain in at that point, so clothes would have to take that into account.
