I found a similar article on the same subject. It's titled: NIH-funded study finds new way to detect early breast cancer.

I like this portion of the article: "Researchers at Case Western found they could detect fast-growing cancerous tumors using an MRI, and a special contrast solution. The technique enables very early detection of metastatic spread, which would allow adaptation of treatment more quickly and hopefully lead to better outcomes in the future."

I don't like this portion: "The team of researchers plans to complete safety testing over the next three years and then start human trials."
Really? 3 years to test safety? Do they have safety concerns with the "special contrast solution"?

Either way, like non-invasive liquid biopsies, this sounds like a useful tool to catch progression before it is firmly established.

This is a topic worth following.

Interesting, but what are they going to do? a full-body MRI? When it takes 2 hours to do the lower back, I shudder to think what that would be like.
