Hi, I have mentioned this before, on the rowing thread, but I just feel moved to highlight it again, as I haven't met anyone else on this site who is into Dragon Boating.

Here is a link to the International Breast Cancer Paddlers' Commission. You will see what a widespread global activity it is. I am sure that many of you, wherever in the world you are, will find there is an association near you. All you need is a body of water - be it lake, sea or river even, plus a number of likeminded individuals!

The next International festival is in Italy in 2018! See you there!!!????

Oh, interesting. We were at the dragon boat festival in Queens, NY yesterday; I posted pictures about it on the Crazy Town thread. I'd been hearing about it for years but had never been. It was wonderful, and I was very glad to see a team from MSK.

I have no idea which team this was, but here is a picture I took yesterday:

We do need a LIKE button. Nice photo!

Normally we have 22 people in the boat for races: 20 paddlers, one steersperson, and a drummer :)

Here's a wiki link with some more details about different countries involved ..
