Just Found Something

I'm almost three years post bilateral mast w reconstruction for IDC. My margins were very close but neither my surgeon or oncologist were concerned. My numbers didn't support chemo. We're currently on an Alaskan cruise and I've found a hard lump, maybe the size of a BB, just under my skin and just above the suture line.

I thought that any recurrence would be deep, back by the chest wall. We'll be home in three days and I'll make an appt with an oncologist (mine quit her practice to spend more time w her kids) and have it checked out.

Has anyone heard of a recurrence presenting like this?  I haven't said anything to my DH. He would worry without reason right now and I don't want to wreck the vacation. Luckily, I have plenty to distract me until we get back. Still.....

MNSusan, you definitely need to get it checked out, but there is every good chance that it is fat necrosis. I have had a couple of those and that is exactly how they present. I hope it turns out to be nothing worrisome in the end.
