Capsular contracture

After my second mastectomy, I had reconstruction using a silicon implant. I now have severe contraction with lots of pain. The implant is pushed up high on my chest. Tightness like a band across my chest. Shooting pain, lack of motion, painful to the touch. Are there any options beside surgery. My PS wants to do a lattisimus dorsi procedure and it sounds pretty rough. First time I had a TRAM flap and I still have trouble 7 years later. Stupid cancer!!

Yikes! I am guessing surgery is the only option, but there are various surgical options. Perhaps get a second opinion.

i had the same problem and ended up doing a Diep flap. After all that I still ended up needing a small implant under the flap. It is better but it still is a little bit tight. I am happy I did it, but I have come to accept that you are just never the same after a mastectomy.
