restarting Herceptin

After 3+ years off of Herceptin, I am going back on it. I was originally diagnosed er/PR-, Her2+ in Dec 2010. I did AC, followed by taxol/herceptin, then Herceptin. I didn't make the full year of herceptin infustions as my ejection fraction decreased to 40%. They took me off of it in March of 2012. I was diagnosed with metastatic disease in December of 2012. Since then I have been on Xeloda and Tykerb and have had gamma knife for brain mets, brain surgery to remove tissue in old metastatic site (was just scar tissue) and most recently, liver surgery to resect out a solitary tumor in my left lobe. My heart function is back to normal and I have been on heart meds since they took me of Herceptin in 2012. Becaues I got a liver met, my oncologist is changing my targeted therapy back to Hercpetin from Tykerb. I am scared that my heart will not hold up tothe Hercpetin again. Anyone been taken off Heceptin for heart issues and then been put back on? How are you doing? Is it posible for my heart to not be effected this time around? Feeling anxious.

I don't have experience here, but hope that your heart is able to withstand treatment. My onc told me that I needed to exercise and keep my heart strong since I had been on Adriamycin and Herceptin. Take care.
