Where to have treatment

Hi all

I have justbeen diagnosed but awaiting receptor status etc. And have learned I will likely need chemo and need to decide on the location where I will receive treatment. My choices are Princess Margaret in Toronto or Southlake regional in Newmarket. I am much closer to Newmarket but the reputation that PMH has is leading me to lean there. I know the treatment will ultimately be the same but I just don't know if I should go with the closest or the most popular. Has anyone else had a similar decision to make? Thanks all.

sbeddows - maybe see what your diagnosis is and what the treatment plan is. If it is fairly standard, then perhaps being close to home wIll be easier for you and not make any difference in the treatment. You can always go for a second opinion. I had my initial surgery at North York General and that's where my medical oncologist is, but went for a second opinion at Sunnybrook.

I ended up having my mastectomies and reconstruction at Princess Margaret because North York doesn't have a plastic surgeon who does the type of recon that I had
