I'm not exactly sure where to post this so I will start here. My wife got diagnosed with stage 1A, grade 3 tumor, breast cancer yesterday. We are in the process of trying to figure out where to go to get treatment. We live in Denver Colorado currently. We are able to travel to any hospital for treatment we just want to go to the best hospital/surgeon. Any recommendations would great!! Thanks

The University of Colorado Cancer Center at Aurora is an NCI Designated Cancer Center. These centers are considered the best.

I had surgery at Lutheran Hospital! My PC.... Dr. Deborah Way set up my team.... My surgeon was Elizabeth Brew..... and my Radiologist was Dr. Wendy Nekritz, both with Lutheran! I had a Lumpectomy with the Mammosite Device implanted, then only about a week of radiation....

Dr. Brew is great...she is a general surgeon.... not a breast surgeon. Have your wife write all her questions down, then when they are answered, write those down also.... It's just a long process, but once the surgery is over, and you get the final pathology report, you will know where to go with your treatment...

You can always change doctors or get second opinions, like with an Oncologist for further treatment. Don't worry! Just relax, and take each day .....one day at a time.... Take good care!

comment here to bump this up so any TNS can respond. There is also a thread specifically for Triple Negative folks.

    Wishing you the best!
