    Hello Marcia,

I was interested to see that you had picked up on my post about bitter apricot kernels. I have been eating them for 12 ½ years now and actually really like them. I saw a nutritionist, Dr Nicola Hembry when I was first diagnosed with breast cancer, triple negative, in June 2005. They were on a sheet about nutrition that she gave me. I took them all through my treatment and still take them every day with no ill effects.

First of all I took about twenty to thirty a day and now I take ten. I do not listen to all the negative information that is written about them.

I think that we have to decide all these things for ourselves. You were lucky to have an oncologist who was fine with your decision. I just took what I thought would help me. I was always very healthy and careful with my diet before being diagnosed. I still take care and have a mainly Mediterranean/Rainbow diet. I do not eat meat, poultry or dairy products. The only animal foods I have are organic eggs and wild frozen salmon. I am probably going to give up the salmon. I eat the eggs because they are supposed to be good for your eyesight. I may decide to go vegan.

Wishing you all the very best.

    Hello Larisa

Thank you for your post. I have been getting bitter apricot kernels from Creative Nature online ever since 2005, as well as from my local natural food store where I live in the UK. Remember that they need to be BITTER apricot kernels. I think there are various brands. The Creative Nature ones come in a tub, but the last ones that I bought in my local store were in a plastic pouch and were a different brand. They have always been organic ones.

    I hope this helps.

    Hi Apricot Ladies,

Are we allowed to take them in a vegetarian capsule? I was taking them and my ONC said the amounts aren't regulated so I got scared and didn't want it to interfere with my Ibrance. Thanks in advance!

I bought some on Saturday and they will be delivered on Tuesday. I was just diagnosed with IDC and have not been through any treatment, YET. I am still in the "what should I do stage". I was told to get either a lumpectomy and radiation or a Mastectomy and be done. I have my records being sent to another medical group for a second opinion. It the mean time I am looking into alternative medicine. AM I crazy?

Laetrile (chemo derived from apricot pits) was pretty much disproven many years ago. Eating apricot pits is about the equivalent of eating low dose cyanide
